My cousin asked me to look after my niece and she forgot to leave me any books to read to her. I went scouting around amazon and found this book. The cover looked fun, so decided to give it a go. I'm so happy I did!My niece loved it so much. I downloaded it on my Kindle for iPad so we could "flip" the pages together and she loved looking at the pages turn and the beautiful drawings. While I was reading, I was pointing to each drawing to teach her the numbers and she would get all excited and point and touch the screen. My cousin wants to get an iPad now so she can play with her like that. Great idea to have a children's book as an e-book. Definitely recommend it to all moms, or occasional babysitters like me. It so entertaining!

This is a wonderful book for teaching counting. I am a homeschool Mom and we are learning our numbers this week so this will be a great tool to use! My sons loved all the pictures and wanted to make an Apple pie after reading the book!
Another fabulous book by Lily Lexington! I absolutely love the pictures in this book! And the rhymes are endearing. Truly. I can see reading this book over and over again -- neither I nor my grandchildren will tire of it! I really like the details of the pictures...there are so many things to count! It really reinforces this concept quite well.

Wonderful story growing from each new number. Great for reading to preschoolers who are learning to count. My four year old grandson loved it.
Another nice little rhyming book by Lily Lexington. This one with numbers from 1 to 10, ideally suited for toddlers and preschoolers.
Each page has the number in bright red color, along with the name number of characters. The kids not only get to identify the number, but also get to count different characters that add up to the number.
The rhyming on each page and beautiful illustrations is what sets this book apart.
Because there's always room for improvement, I don't like giving 5 stars--and I almost never give 5 stars.
But this story shocked me in how good it actually is.
The rhyme, though not perfect, is very good. And the metre is at a higher level than the vast majority of the other rhyming stories out there on .
Also, the story developed nicely and came together well at the end.
The illustrations are bright and colourful and fun.
(On top of all that, it's priced low. It's well worth the price.)
In short, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this book.
This book is great for children learning to count. The illustrations are colorful and well done and yes, as other reviewers have mentioned, the verses do rhyme well!
So is there a story as well as counting in this book? Yes! First there is ONE hole dug and then there are TWO seeds put into the ground. What grows from those seeds? You'll have to read to find out but I bet by the end of the book your mouth will be watering.
Once number TEN is reached, the countdown is quickly done all the way back to number ONE.
Excellent book! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
